I am teaching myself Tunisian crochet. It’s a cross between crochet and knitting and I’m having fun trying to learn how it’s done. To be totally honest, I have tried this technique once before but had forgotten how to do it!
There are four stitches in the practice piece in the photo below, all of them make a thicker ‘material’ than standard crochet. The result is ideal for a project needing some substance to the cloth, for example a bag or neck cowl, even a jacket.
If I actually manage to finish something in Tunisian crochet I’ll let you know!
